Erigavo (PP News Desk) — The construction of a major market for Dhahar, a district in Sanaag, in the northern Somali region of Puntland has successfully come to an end.

The Nordic International Support Foundation (NIS) funded the construction of the market project. The market will consist of 100 retail outlets, and according to Kassim Gabowduale, NIS country representative in Somalia, “it will serve communities in Sool and Sanaag regions.”

The Nordic International Support Foundation funded the construction of Dhahar Market, which will boost local economic activities.

NIS partnered with local organisations to implement a timely project that will boost economic activities in Sanaag and nearby regions.

NIS had put investment into a key economic infrastructure in a district that, along with Badhan, has expanded since 1991, to become economically dynamic due to its proximity to other districts  in Sanaag, Sool and Bari. District authorities will soon officially open the market.
