Getting there
By car Motorway A2 between the Austrian border and Ljubljana passes next to the city. Jesenice is the first city on the Slovenian side after the Karawanks Tunnel.
By train Jesenice is also on the railway between Villach and Ljubljana. It is the first railway stop on the Slovenian side.

The Jesenice Upper Sava Museum is made up of six components, three of which are in Jesenice:
1 Bucellini–Ruard Manor (Ruardova graščina), Cesta Franceta Prešerna 45. Built in 1538 as one of the "ironworks castles"; residences of the tycoons of the iron mining and processing industry. Since 1954 the building has housed exhibitions of the region's iron and steel heritage, minerals and palaeontological discoveries. (updated May 2020) 2 Kos Manor (Kosova graščina), Cesta maršala Tita 64. Another "ironwork castle", from 1521. Functions as a museum showcasing the resistance against the German occupation during WWII. The upper floor is a hall for cultural events. (updated May 2020) 3 Workers' Barracks (Delavska kasarna). An ethnographic museum, originally a housing complex for iron industry workers. (updated May 2020) The three other sites are the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana, the Liznjek Farm in Kranjska Gora and the Kajžnk House in Rateče.
