Camerino is home to the University of Camerino, founded in the Middle Ages.

1 Camerino Cathedral (Duomo di Camerino, Cattedrale di Santa Maria Annunziata). An early 19th-century construction built over a previous structured destroyed in 1799. The interior houses some artworks from the former edifice, including a wooden Crucifix dating back to the 13th century and a Madonna of Misericord from the 15th century. The crypt has two stone lions from the late 13th century, two busts from Bernini's workshop and a marble medieval arch dedicated to Saint Ansovinus, a bishop of the city in the 9th century. 2 Rocca di Borgia (Castello Borgia). Designed by Ludovico Clodio for Cesare Borgia, it dates from 1503. It has cylindrical towers and a massive keep. The castle was used as a command post by the German occupation forces during World War II. The part of the castle that is still standing is now a restaurant. 3 Chiaravalle Abbey, Fiastra (Abbazia di Chiaravalle di Fiastra). Medieval cradle of the Cistercian Order. It is now abandoned. 4 Orto Botanico dell'Università di Camerino. Botanical gardens maintained by the University of Camerino, as is the Arboretum Apenninicum.

The sword and palio race is a historical re-enactment from the end of the 15th century which has taken place since 1982 on the occasion of the celebrations of the patron saint San Venanzio martyr. The event takes place between the week before 18th May and 2nd June. The race usually takes place on the Sunday following the patron saint's day. June/July: Musicamdo Jazz Festival and Massimo Urbani International Award August: Camerino Festival - International Festival of Chamber Music and Theatre
