Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni will address the Puntland Parliament on Saturday.

President Deni returned from Mogadishu after the failure of electoral talks and controversial mandate extension for the Somali federal institutions.

The parliament secretariat sent a message on the extraordinary session to MPs.

Puntland’s President was in Mogadishu for electoral talks that collapsed following disagreements on the agendas discussed.

President Deni returned to Garowe after electoral talks collapsed.

President Deni was conciliatory in an interview with Dalsan TV.

He dropped the demand that non-stakeholders should participate in the electoral talks.

The Puntland Government has not issued a statement on the mandate extension for federal institutions justified on grounds of ending the political uncertainty in the country.

Sources close to the Puntland State Government have told the Puntland Post that President Deni would make an unconditional offer to sign the 17 September electoral model, which might break the deadlock over elections if the Federal Government of Somalia resolves to return to electoral talks as demanded by Somalia’s International Partners.
