Hāwera railway station
South Taranaki District, New Zealand
Hāwera railway station was the primary rail station in Hāwera, Taranaki, New Zealand. It opened in 1881 and was situated on the Marton-New Plymouth railway. Regular passenger services ran for 96 years until 1977 while freight services continued until services were centralised at Whareroa and Stratford. Today the former railway yard is largely empty. However, the 1960s-era station building and 1970s-era goods shed both remain, leased to private businesses.
