Akaroa Marine Reserve

Akaroa Marine Reserve is a no-take marine protected area covering 512.15 hectares (1, 265.6 acres) at the entrance to Akaroa Harbour in New Zealand. The marine reserve was approved in 2013 after a lengthy campaign, and established in 2014. The adjacent Akaroa Taiāpure occupies the rest of the harbour and was established earlier.
