Jameh Mosque of Tehran

The Jāmeh Mosque of Tehran, also known as the Atiq Mosque and also called the Bazaar Jāmeh Mosque and the Tehran Central Mosque, is a Shi'ite Friday mosque (jāmeh), located in the city of Tehran, in the province of Tehran, Iran. Situated adjacent to the Grand Bazaar, it is the oldest mosque in the city, with its oldest Shabestan, built in the 10th or 11th century CE, during the Al-e Bouyeh era. The mosque was added to the Iran National Heritage List on 9 December 1996, administered by the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran.
