Jameh Mosque of Fahraj

The Jāmeh Mosque of Fahraj (Masjed-e Jomeh, Fahraj) is a Shi'ite Friday mosque (jāmeh) located in Fahraj, Yazd province, Iran. The mosque was completed during the 7th to 10th centuries CE and is one of the oldest extant mosques in Iran; it demonstrates the simple architectural characteristics of the early Islamic centuries. The mosque was added to the Iran National Heritage List on 21 December 1970, administered by the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran.
