Santo Stefano di Sessanio travel guide
Getting around
The only way to see the village is on foot. It's small enough to give no problem to most people but is not easy for wheel-chair users as there are a number of steps and some very narrow roads.
See
It is the village as a whole rather than any particular sight that is appealing, although you would not want to miss the watchtower and the remarkably narrow street past it. There is a small lake just outside the walls.
Eat
Hotel Restaurant del Cavaliere, Via della Giudea, This is just outside the wall; their lentil soup is particularly good.
Sleep
The Residenza la Torre is not a single place but consists of a number of restored apartments, the restoration tastefully planned by an architect owner. The owner or a family member will let you into your apartment and leave you some food for breakfast, book you a meal at the local restaurant if you wish and then leave you until the morning.
