Proença-a-Nova (proo-EHN-suh uh NAW-vuh, /pɾu.ˈẽ.sɐ ɐ ˈnɔ.vɐ /) municipality has 8,314 residents (2011). The area of Proença is full of pine trees. The nearest motorway is the A23 (Autoestrada da Beira Interior, a/k/a E802). Exit 18 will put you on IC8, offering a direct route into town.
