See
1 Angelokastro Byzantine Castle. Perched dramatically on a sheer cliff above the northwest coast of Corfu, Angelokastro is one of the island’s most important Byzantine fortresses. Built as early as the 5th–7th centuries, it formed part of a defensive network and was never conquered despite repeated sieges. The ruins crown a rugged peak near Paleokastritsa, offering sweeping views across the Ionian Sea. Access involves a steep but rewarding climb from the nearby village of Krini. (updated Jul 2026)
Do
Beaches 1 Sidari. A fair-sized resort dominated by British tourists. At one end of the beach is the "Canal de l'Amour": sand stone cliffs with narrow inlets, a natural archway and small paths to explore. (updated Mar 2016) 2 Dasia and Ipsos. A narrow stony beach with relatively calm waters. The resort runs along the road so there's a good variety of shops and tavernas. (updated Mar 2016) 3 Barbati beach. Crystal clear!
