About Guinobatan

Guinobatan is a landlocked municipality in the province of Albay, placed between the city of Ligao and the municipality of Camalig accessible via Asian Highway 26. It is one of the five municipalities that has a jurisdiction over the foothills of Mayon Volcano.

Understand

The town is known as the birth place of General Simeón Ola y Arboleda, the last Filipino General to surrender to the American forces. It is dubbed as the Sparkling Gem of Bicol due to its vibrant culture and annual festivities.

Getting there

By plane The nearest airport is in Daraga (DRP IATA).

By bus There are buses from Manila to Guinobatan, stopping also at other towns and cities along the way, and there are also UV Express vans from Legazpi.

By car The town is 17 kilometres (11 mi) from Legazpi and 510 kilometres (320 mi) from Manila.

Getting around

Around the town center there are tricycles are available heading to the outlying barangays.
