Lannion-Côte de Granit Airport

Lannion–Côte de Granit Airport or Aéroport de Lannion–Côte de Granit (IATA: LAI, ICAO: LFRO) is an airport located in Lannion, near the former municipality of Servel, a commune of the Côtes-d'Armor département in the Brittany région of France. It was also known as Lannion Airport or Lannion–Servel Airport. Established in 1937 for recreational aviation, Lannion Airfield began with a small landing ground. In July 1940, the Axis forces occupied the airfield and expanded it to accommodate fighter squadrons for use by the Luftwaffe. After the war, it was abandoned until it fell under use by the French Air Force, where it was used as a research test centre from 1959 through the 1960s. Lannion Airport began commercial operations in 1974 when the Rousseau Aviation Company opened a service to Paris.
