The airport is 34 km southwest of Rome. With 40.5 million passengers in 2023, it is the busiest airport in Italy and one of the busiest in Europe. It has four runways and is operating around the clock.
當地交通
You can walk airside between all gates in both terminals, except gates E31–44 in the satellite building. To get to gates E31–44 you have to take the shuttle train SkyBridge which connects these gates with the rest of terminal 3. In the past, taking SkyBridge has involved a security checkpoint, meaning that once you've taken it you're stuck where you are, but it's unclear whether this is still true now that terminal 3 only seems to be handling non-Schengen flights.
購物
In Terminal 1 airside, there's a largish duty free store right after security that all passengers will walk through. After this, there are duty free and mainly Italian fashion stores on the first floor and a large food store as part of the restaurant area on the second floor.
順遊推薦
Fiumicino — the town after which the airport is named is not far away. Ostia — Rome's beach and ancient archaeological site is also nearby.
