Novohrad is a region in Central Slovakia, situated around the Ipeľ river (hence the alternative name Poiplie). It is one of the poorest Slovak regions.

(updated Dec 2017) Located in 4 Šomoška nature reserve, which as an interesting 9m high stone waterfall, made of basalt lava. 5 Turkish bridge in Poltár. (updated Dec 2017) 6 Sulfur eye (Sírne oko). A water spring with sulphur-scent bubbles rising. The water doesn't flow away.
