Mimizan had 7,000 inhabitants. There is a beach of 10 km facing the Atlantic ocean. This beach is divide in two parts: south and north, which each have beaches. To the north, there are the remember beach, the Ailes's beach and the garluche's beach. To the south there are the goëlands's beach, the mouettes's beach, the south beach and the lespecier's beach.

By Plane Fly to Bordeaux or Biarritz. There is no airport in Mimizan, therefore you can arrive by the airport Bordeaux-Mérignac, which is at 120 km of Mimizan or by the airport Biarritz-Pays Basque at 124 km of Mimizan. From the airport you can continue on using public transport or by renting a car.

By public transport The closest rail station to Mimizan is Labouheyre, which is mainly served by regional TER trains. Labouheyre is connected to Mimizan by bus 4 times a day on weekdays and on all days during the French summer holidays. By car Mimizan is easily reachable by car. The A63 motorway from Bordeaux or Biarritz passes by Labouheyre, where you can take the motorway exit and follow the road signs towards Mimizan.

On foot When staying in Mimizan Plage, getting around on foot is easy and convenient. The roads are safe and feature wide sidewalks.

By bike Work up an appetite for the fantastic local food and burn off some calories by cycling around Mimizan! Cheap to rent (€14 a day), numerous local hire stores offer bicycles.

Other modes Mimizan has a safe and small road network, so getting around by car is easy - although it might not be necessary due to the small size of the village. Or use the Mimiz's Bus, which is a free shuttle, it's convenient and economic.
