Jičín is about 85 km (53 mi) northeast of Prague.

By bus Bus departs from Černý Most bus station and take 90 mins.

By car Jičín is at the crossroad of Route 16 (from Prague direction) and Route 35 (from Hradec Králové).

By train Trains from Prague Train Station take 2 hours to reach 1 Jičín station. (updated Dec 2023). Take R10 train to Nymburk and transfer to S21. They are slower and more expensive than buses.

By air The nearest commercial airport is 2 Pardubice Airport (PED IATA). It takes about an hour by car from Pardubice to Jičín. (updated Dec 2023)

1 Valdštejnovo Square (Valdštejnovo náměstí). (updated Dec 2023) 2 Jičín Castle. Despite its name, it is a palace. (updated Dec 2023) 3 Valdice Tower (Valdická brána), ☏ +420 737 345 225, [email protected]. Built in the renaissance period. You can climb the stairs to the observation gallery at the top of the tower. (updated Dec 2023) 4 Synagogue in Jičín (Jičínská synagoga), Židovská 104. A synagogue was first mentioned in 1773. Today lectures and concerts take place in the synagogue. The building also houses an exhibition on the history of Jews in Jičín. 5 Jewish Cemetery (2 km west of the town in the middle of fields in the Sedličky part of town). There are still several hundred gravestones in the 1,104-m² cemetery. The Taharahaus with its arched gate was probably built in the 19th century. (updated Dec 2023) North of the town is the Baroque summer house of Albrecht von Wallenstein called Valdštejnská Loggia. The original game park around it is nowadays a park called Libosad.
