Cannock is the largest town within the Cannock Chase District in the county of Staffordshire in the West Midlands region of England.
Cannock lies to the north of the West Midlands conurbation on the M6, A34 and A5 roads, and to the south of Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Cannock is served by a railway station on the Chase Line.

1 Boscobel House and The Royal Oak, Brewood, Bishop's Wood, ST19 9AR (13 miles west of Cannock), ☏ +44 1902 850244. Site of the famous oak tree where Charles II hid after fleeing his crushing defeat at the Battle of Worcester at the end of the English Civil War. Apparently, the family were entitled to a perpetual royal pension for their loyalty to the crown but it wasn't adjusted for inflation. adults £6.20, children £3.70, concessions £5.60. 2 Chasewater. Canal-feeder reservoir, with walks, visitor centre and picnic spots. Good for bird-watching. (updated Aug 2018) 3 Chasewater Railway. Preserved railway, with steam and diesel trains, a small but interesting museum, etc. (updated Aug 2018) 4 Castle Ring. The perimeter earthworks are all that remains of this iron age hill fort, which sits at the highest point of Cannock Chase. (updated Dec 2020)
