It is a larger and closer airport to the city than Brussels South Charleroi Airport, which is mainly served by low-cost airlines. The closest alternative airports are the latter in Charleroi and Antwerp.

Organization of the structures

The airport, which covers an area of 1,245 hectares, is of category A, that is, it is, except for meteorological exceptions, accessible at any time and at all times.
