Over 24 hours after violence rocked downtown Portland late Saturday few details behind the fatal shooting of an individual believed to have been shot in the chest have yet to emerge.

Latest reports indicate that the police have yet to arrest a suspect in the shooting with local police chief Chuck Lovell asking for calm and for people not to jump to “conclusions” over what might have happened.

What is known is that violent left wing riots have continued in the area for more than 90 consecutive nights – the protests starting after the police killing of George Floyd in May.

Riots have followed the police murder of George Floyd
But, on Saturday, a self titled “Trump 2020 Cruise Rally in Portland,” with supporters of the president in vehicles decorated in “Thin Blue Line” and other flags showing support for President Trump in the upcoming presidential elections were parading through town when the convoy was at some point attacked.
Fires were also started by the ‘regular’ protesters as police officers attempted to keep the different groups apart.
Local Portland police then tweeted that there had been “some instances of violence between demonstrators and counterdemonstrators” without mentioning who initiated the trouble.
A short time later a male shooting victim said to be wearing a hat labeled Patriot Prayer had been shot and killed, with President Trump later taking to Twitter to say “Rest In Peace.”
Patriot Prayer is a local Portland right-wing free speech advocacy group according to sources, indicating that the shooter was likely from the left wing protesters movement.
One witness, interviewed on CNN, claimed not to have known what happened in the lead up to the shooting, announcing of his own live-stream video of the event  “I’ve watched the video 100 times, slow-mo and on my TV, and still don’t know where the shots actually came from.”
“I was in the wrong place at the right time,” the witness is reported as saying. “I’m just a citizen journalist. I just want people to know what is going on out here.”
