Built by Croatia's Brodosplit shipyard, the vessel entered service in 2019 and primarily operates in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. According to the cruise line, the MV Hondius is the world's first vessel to receive Lloyd's Register Polar Class 6 ice-strengthened certification.
