Wild Rivers (water park)

Wild Rivers is a water park in Irvine, California, United States. It originally opened in July 1986 on the site of the former Lion Country Safari. Following the expiration of its lease with The Irvine Company, the park closed on September 25, 2011. In August 2012, the Orange County Board of Supervisors approved plans to rebuild Wild Rivers near the Orange County Great Park. Construction began on July 1, 2021, after developers secured full funding, with plans to reopen in summer 2022. The new Wild Rivers held a soft opening on July 10, 2022, followed by its official grand opening on July 29, 2022. The rebuilt park is approximately 50% larger than the original.
