The Gardens of the American Rose Center

The American Rose Center is a public botanical garden featuring the nation's floral emblem, the Rose. The 118.6 acres of land in Shreveport, Louisiana was donated to The American Rose Society in 1970 for its national headquarters and for the creation of the Gardens of The American Rose Center. Fifty-plus years later in 2025, the ARS, unable to sustain the Gardens, made the property available to a newly formed Louisiana non-profit corporation which continued the name, the American Rose Center. With the transfer of ownership and operation of the property to the community of Shreveport, and with a new founding Board of Directors of community-minded leaders, the Gardens are poised to serve the region - and the state - as a public garden that all would be proud of and enjoy. The Gardens are easy to find off Interstate 20 at Exit 5-just 5 miles from the Texas border. The Gardens are set in a beautiful forest of majestic pine trees; it has been said that the Gardens are like being in nature's cathedral. The serenity of the Gardens is one of its best attributes.
