Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

Pembrokeshire, United Kingdom · built 1952

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Arfordir Penfro) is a national park in the county of Pembrokeshire, Wales. It was established in 1952 and includes most of the coast of the county, the upper reaches of Milford Haven, and the Preseli Mountains in the north. When the creation of the national park was being considered in 1947, the "rock-bound coastline" of Pembrokeshire was described as "the most spectacular of its many attractions". The national park covers 420 km (260 miles) of this coastline and a total of 650 square miles (1, 700 km2). It is one of three national parks in Wales, the others being the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) and Snowdonia (Eryri). It is the only national park in the United Kingdom to consist largely of coastal landscapes.
