Freedom Park (Cambodia)

Freedom Park, also known as Democracy Square (Khmer, Tiléan Prâchéathĭbâtéyy), was a 8,000-square-kilometre (3, 100 sq mi) plaza in downtown Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It was the site of a number of protests from the 1990s until the 2010s. In 2016, then prime minister Hun Sen ordered the plaza to be relocated and renamed Democracy Park (Khmer: ​​); the move was completed the following year.
