The University of Gothenburg (Swedish: Göteborgs universitet) is a public university in Gothenburg, Sweden. Founded in 1891, the university is the third-oldest of the current Swedish universities and, with 58,000 students and 6,700 staff members, it is one of the largest universities in the Nordic countries.
