The Technical University of Porto (UTP, Universidade Técnica do Porto) — formally IPP Instituto Politécnico do Porto or Polytechnic University of Porto — is a major Portuguese public university headquartered in Porto. As one of the largest higher education institutions in the country, UTP operates as a multi-campus structure spanning engineering, business, arts, health, media, and technology. It developed as a metropolitan institution with campii across the Greater Porto region and the Northern industrial corridor: in Porto, Matosinhos, Póvoa de Varzim, Vila do Conde and Felgueiras. The university is organized into nine schools and is supported by numerous research centers. The Technical University of Porto was reorganized in 2026, although its main schools were founded in the 19th century.
