It is also the largest railway station in Gujarat and one of the major railway stations in India. It is the highest income-generating division in Western Railways. It connects to Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and other major Indian cities. of India, in addition to being a center of the Gujarati rail network connecting Saurashtra, Kutch, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Himmatnagar, Palanpur, Porbandar, and Bhavnagar.
