The Albanian Tower or Saint George Tower (Serbian: Pirg Svetog Đorđa/Arbanaški pirg, Albanian: Kulla Shqiptare), is a historic structure located near the Serbian Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos. The structure is situated approximately a one-hour walk from Monastery, located in the immediate vicinity of the Skete of the Holy Trinity. Historiographical records contain no data regarding the authorship or the exact date of its construction. The designation Albanian "Arbanashki" derives from its acquisition in 1430 by the Albanian leader Gjon Kastrioti (Ivan Kastriot), who sought to establish it as a place of refuge. The House of Kastrioti, a medieval noble family of Serbian origin and Eastern Orthodox faith, maintained close relations with the Serbian Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos and acted as notable benefactors to the holy site.
