CPBL Squad Opens APBC Camp as Champion Outfielder Kuo Tien-hsin Embraces Captaincy

The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) team officially began training camp today for the Asia Professional Baseball Championship, with the much-anticipated captaincy unveiled on the opening day. The responsibility has been entrusted to Wei Chuan Dragons outfielder Kuo Tien-hsin, who delivered an outstanding performance during this year's CPBL Taiwan Series to help his team capture the championship. Faced with this sudden, weighty role, Kuo demonstrated rare decisiveness and confidence for a young player, readily accepting the coaching staff's assignment without the slightest hesitation. This decision not only reflects the coaching staff's recognition of the young outfielder's leadership abilities, but also symbolizes the CPBL's bold embrace of spirited and infectious young leaders amid a generational transition in international competition.

He specifically observed Chen Chieh-hsien, a CPBL marquee star who has previously captained the national team in international tournaments, closely studying Chen's leadership philosophy and how he interacts with teammates. Chen's energetic leadership style and vocal encouragement to rally team morale left a lasting impression. When asked if he could replicate that style, Kuo joked with his signature bright smile that Chen is truly "noisy" and always knows how to fire up the atmosphere, adding, "but I'm very noisy, too." Though humorous, the remark accurately captured Kuo's essence as the team's spark plug and source of energy.

The youthful CPBL squad serves as a developmental cradle aimed at future international tournaments. With its age restrictions and roster structure, the Asia Professional Baseball Championship has always prioritized cultivating up-and-coming talent and honing
