Rivière du Limbé

The Rivière du Limbé (French pronunciation: [ʁivjɛʁ dy lɛ̃be]) is a river of Haiti. The Rivière du Limbé is located in Haiti's Nord department and is one of the area's natural waterways. Originating in the Massif du Nord, it flows through the commune of Limbé before entering the Atlantic Ocean near Bas-Limbé.The river is part of the northern Haitian drainage network and serves as a permanent source of freshwater. Its upper course passes through rugged terrain with steep slopes, while the lower reaches extend across flatter, low-lying land characterized by wetlands and poorly drained soils. In addition to its environmental importance, the river supports nearby agricultural activities by providing water to surrounding farmland and local communities. It also plays a role in shaping the landscape of the Limbé region.
