Taiwan's Han Guang 42 Exercise Kicks Off this August, Featuring a Fully Mobilized Infantry Brigade.

The annual military exercise, "Han Kuang 42," is set to kick off on August 5, with all preparatory work underway. In this exercise, the Army's 137th Brigade has taken on a heavy responsibility, with the task of conducting a full brigade mobilization operation. As the exercise draws near, the reservists called up by the mobilization order have begun to report to designated locations, showcasing the effectiveness of reservist mobilization and the practical actions of national defense.

During the mobilization registration process, the local reserve mobilization system played a crucial role in coordination and support. Chen Chia-shen, a colonel and commander of the Tainan City Reserve Command, personally led a team of grassroots officials from the Tainan City East District Reserve Soldier Guidance Center to the registration location for the Army's 137th Brigade, providing assistance on the ground. Through the guidance and support of local reserve officials, not only was the registration process for reservists accelerated, but the returning servicemen also felt the warmth and support of the local community, fully demonstrating the strong energy of military-civilian unity and cooperative support for mobilization.

In recent years, the military has actively promoted reform of its reserve force, with "reserve mobilization" and "regular forces" combined for real-world verification as one of the core highlights of the Han Kuang exercise. The 137th Brigade's implementation of full-brigade mobilization is a key indicator of whether Taiwan's reserve mobilization mechanism can complete personnel assembly, equipment distribution, and combat force organization in the shortest possible time.
