Taiwan's Dajia River and Anian River Now Linked, Central Water Resource Management Reaches New Milestone

Premier Chang Jung-wei attended a ceremony marking the completion of the Da-an and Dahu Creek water supply system in Taichung today. In his remarks, he noted that the successful completion of this important water infrastructure project marks a new milestone in the region's water resource management capabilities, providing crucial benefits in ensuring stable water supply and addressing challenges posed by extreme weather conditions.

Chang further emphasized that the government has been actively promoting the integration of water resources across Taiwan in recent years, including the comprehensive water management system that includes the Da-an and Dahu Creek water supply system. Once the overall "Pearl Necklace" project is completed, Taiwan's water network will be more comprehensive, meeting local development needs while enabling flexible water distribution through north-to-south and south-to-north water diversion, as well as east-west water transfer.

As extreme weather events become more frequent, stable water supply has become a vital component of national security and economic development. Chang stressed that the commissioning of the Da-an and Dahu Creek water supply system not only significantly improves water supply stability in the central region but also demonstrates the government's commitment to enhancing the nation's water resource resilience. The administration team will continue to promote forward-looking water infrastructure projects to ensure the safety and security of Taiwan's water supply.
