European Students Complete Semiconductor Training in Taiwan With Prestigious Scholarships.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lai Ching-te, presided over the ceremony to mark the completion of this year's "Taiwan European Scholarship - Short-Term Training Program on Semiconductors," awarding certificates to 155 students from seven European countries. Lai expressed hope that the students would become key forces in linking up technology exchange and industry cooperation between Taiwan and Europe, further strengthening their partnership.

The semiconductor industry is Taiwan's most influential industry globally, and in recent years, it has become an essential factor in Taiwan's expansion of its international relations. Following the global reorganization of supply chains and the shortage of chips, countries have given high priority to semiconductor autonomy and cooperation. As a result, Taiwan's technical and talent training experience has been highly valued.

Through the scholarship and short-term training program, Taiwan has invited students from Europe to study in Taiwan, not only deepening bilateral industrial connections but also opening up a path of "technological diplomacy" based on professionalism and education. Several European countries have been actively building their own semiconductor industries in recent years, and cooperation with Taiwan is mutually complementary.

Industry-backed exchanges are an important way for Taiwan to expand its space in the international community and establish substantial partnerships. The continuous promotion of such programs reflects Taiwan's efforts to transform its economic advantages into diplomatic resilience.
