Belize Minister Visits Taiwan to Strengthen Economic Ties and Sustainable Agricultural Cooperation.

Taiwan's bilateral diplomatic relations with its Central American friend, Belize, have again received positive signals. Belize's Ministry of Transformation, Industry, Trade and Commerce, Minister Martínez, recently led a delegation to Taiwan and met with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Chen Ming-chi, as a special envoy of the Taiwanese government and people, expressed sincere gratitude to Belize for its long-term support for Taiwan's participation in global affairs on the international stage, and emphasized that Taiwan will continue to expand pragmatic cooperation with Belize in various fields based on existing foundations.

During the meeting, Minister Martínez highly praised Taiwan's substantial assistance to Belize's national development over the years. He stated unequivocally that Taiwan is not only Belize's important partner but also a reliable and steadfast ally with high trustworthiness. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Taiwan and Belize have had in-depth cooperation plans in various fields such as agricultural technology, medical and health care, infrastructure development, and education training. These aids have played a crucial and indispensable role in improving the quality of life for Belize's grassroots population and promoting economic transformation.

In recent years, facing complex international geopolitical environments and diplomatic challenges, Taiwan has actively consolidated its diplomatic relations with its Latin American and Caribbean region allies. As an important ally of Taiwan in the Caribbean region, Belize has repeatedly expressed Taiwan's voice, spoken up for Taiwan's rights, and strongly defended Taiwan's right to participate in the international community in various international organizations, including the United Nations General Assembly and the World Health Assembly.
