Newlands coal mine

The Newlands Coal Mine is a coal mine located in the north of the Bowen Basin at Newlands about 28 km northwest of Glenden in North Queensland, Australia. The mine has coal reserves amounting to 413 million tonnes of low ash steaming coal, one of the largest coal reserves in Australia and the world. The mine has an annual production capacity of 10.6 million tonnes of coal.
