La Raza metro station is a transfer station on the Mexico City Metro in Gustavo A. Madero, Mexico City. La Raza is a combined underground and at-grade station divided into two lines. It serves Lines 3 (Olive Line) and 5 (Yellow Line), each with two side platforms. La Raza metro station is located between Potrero and Tlatelolco stations on Line 3, and between Autobuses del Norte and Misterios stations on Line 5. It serves the Colonias (neighborhoods) of Vallejo and Héroes de Nacozari. The station is situated along Avenida de los Insurgentes and Eje Central. La Raza metro station opened on 25 August 1978 as the temporary northern terminal of Line 3, with southbound service to Hospital General. Service on Line 5 began on 1 July 1982. The station's pictogram represents the nearby Monumento a la Raza, a pyramid-shaped structure dedicated to la Raza, Mexico's diverse native peoples and cultures. The station is partially accessible to people with disabilities, including braille signage plates and elevators. The transfer tunnel is approximately 600 meters (2,000 ft) long, making it the second-longest in the system. Inside, The Tunnel of Science permanent science exhibition features science and astronomy pictures and information.
