Japanese Garden, Singapore

The Jurong Lake Gardens are the three interconnected gardens located in and around Jurong Lake in western Singapore, they being the Chinese, Japanese, and Lakeside gardens. In 2014, then-Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong floated the idea of integrating the Chinese Garden, the Japanese Garden, and Jurong Lake Park (now referred to as the Lakeside Garden), into a single park, referring to the unified park as Jurong Lake Gardens. Phase 1 of the Jurong Lake Gardens, consisting of the Lakeside Garden, opened on 27 April 2019. In 2024, the Chinese and Japanese gardens were reopened to the public after renovations. The Jurong Lake Gardens are considered one of Singapore's national gardens, along with Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Botanic Gardens, and, according to the National Parks Board, the first to open in Singapore's heartland.
