Deogarh Fort

Chhindwara district, India

The Deogarh fort, or the Devgarh fort is a medieval Chandela fort located in the village of Deogarh in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh, India. It lies 42 km from the district headquarters, Chhindwara, and 22 km from Umranala. The fort is situated atop a hill rising to an elevation of 650 m (2, 132.55 ft). As per Epigraphic evidences, the fort was a Chandela fort, erected in the eleventh century CE by the Chandela emperor Kirttivarman, with its construction supervised by the minister Vatsaraja at his order.
