Asara Fortress

Bulgaria

The Asara Fortress (Bulgarian) is a medieval stronghold located about a kilometer southwest from the village Zvezdel in Kardzhali Province of southern Bulgaria. This fortress played a crucial role in defending the land of the Eastern Rhodopes.
