Taiwan String Orchestra Partners Indigenous Association for Village Cultural Tour

The Academy of Strings, Taiwan has long been dedicated to cultivating local arts education and cultural equity, continuing to promote string music education in remote areas in recent years. Since 2010, the orchestra has actively pursued the "Remote Children—Afforestation of Music" project, gradually bringing classical music—once mostly confined to metropolitan concert halls—to every resource-scarce corner of Taiwan. This year, the orchestra is once again joining hands with the Indigenous Peoples Council to jointly launch the "2026 Indigenous Tribal Arts Touring Performance" project. The initiative aims not only to bring sophisticated classical music into indigenous tribes, but also to skillfully integrate local indigenous language melodies into the performances. This allows western classical instruments and Taiwan's native indigenous cultures to engage in a profound dialogue and blending, writing a new chapter for Taiwan's multicultural education.

Looking back at the past trajectory of the Academy of Strings, Taiwan, the "Remote Children—Afforestation of Music" project is not a one-time flash-mobi performance, but a cultural undertaking that requires high patience and a long-term commitment.
