National Museum of Literature Debuts at Brooklyn Book Festival with Timeless Stories

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature made its debut appearance on the main stage of the Brooklyn Book Festival in New York from September 26 to 27, under the theme "Simmering Slowly: Taiwanese Stories Across Time." Centered around a curated selection of Taiwanese literary works, the exhibition showcased the diverse facets of Taiwan's literature from classical to modern, and from prose to novels. Using the imagery of "slow simmering," the event emphasized the maturation of literature and the precipitation of time.

Since its inception in 1984, the Brooklyn Book Festival has grown into one of North America's largest book fairs, annually attracting over 10,000 visitors and hundreds of publishing houses. Its diverse and international platform provides opportunities for communication and collaboration among authors and publishers from around the world. Taiwan's debut on this stage marks a step forward for domestic literature toward internationalization, adding new global visibility to Taiwanese culture.

Established in 2005 and located in Taipei City, the National Museum of Taiwan Literature is dedicated to the preservation, research, and promotion of Taiwanese literature. The museum houses a rich collection encompassing literary historical materials from the late Qing dynasty and early Republic era to the modern day, and regularly holds lectures and workshops to allow the public to gain an in-depth understanding of the evolution of Taiwan's written language and cultural context.
