Wamako is a town and Local Government Area in Sokoto State, Northwestern Nigeria. It lies just outside and is known for its academic institutions, agriculture, and Hausa - Fulani culture.

Wamako hosts the permanent site of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, making it a lively student community. The area is also notable for its farmlands, cattle markets, and traditional Hausa-Fulani heritage.

Getting there

By road Wamako is only a short 10 to 15 minute drive from Sokoto City and can be reached using taxis, minibuses, tricycles or motorcycles.
