The city's terrain transitions from the low hills and mountains in the north to the Guanzhong Plain in the south. It has a temperate continental climate with pleasant springs and autumns, hot summers, and cold winters. The ceramic craftsmanship of Yaozhou Kiln has spanned over a thousand years and is still in use today. Tongchuan’s folk artists are renowned for traditional handicrafts such as paper-cutting and embroidery, which are commonly found in the local souvenir markets.
