Getting there

There is no rail service to Samani. JR Hokkaido Bus run a bus from Mukawa station on the Nissho Line (日勝線). The route runs from Shizunai and Urakawa through Samani to Erimo and Hiroo By road, take national highway Route 336.

1 Mount Apoi (アポイ岳, Apoi-dake). Mount Apoi, standing 810 m, is next to the town. An onsen (hot spring resort) is at the base of the mountain, which is a popular climb among tourists and locals. Oyako Rocks (親子岩, Oya-ko iwa) — One of the best known sites in Samani is the Oya-ko rocks that sit just offshore. They are known by this name, meaning Parents-and-Child, because they are a formation of two larger rocks and smaller one. Oya-ko is nesting site for cormorants and other sea birds.
