About Nadia district

Nadia (Bengali: নদিয়া Nodiyā), a district of West Bengal, is known for the two Hindu pilgrimage sites Mayapur and Nabadwip, and also the royal heritage of Krishnanagar. Getting there

By train Almost all railway stations are on the eastern side of the Bhagirathi River, excluding the two stations in Nabadwip. Nabadwip is the gateway to the district from the Howrah side, while Krishnanagar and Ranaghat being major stations at the Sealdah side.

By car NH 12 runs north–south in Nadia, and it is probably the best way to get into the district from Kolkata or North Bengal. The highway covers major cities like Ranaghat and Krishnanagar. SH 6, also known as STKK Road, is another way to get into the region via Nabadwip.
