History

Landscape The landscape consists of steppes and wetlands.

Flora and fauna Koralzhyn is known for its bird fauna and is the northernmost place in the world where you can see pink flamingos living in the wild. Other animals include pelicans, cranes, antelopes, marmots and wolves.

Getting there

The nature reserve is a little less than 200 km southwest of Astana, next to Lake Tengiz.
