Kitaaiki

Kitaaiki is a small mountain village in the eastern part of Nagano Prefecture and about 90 percent of the village is covered by forest. Its population fell by two thirds between 1950 and 2019.

Getting there

Kitaaiki does not have any rail services or national highways.

The main nearby summit is Mount Ogura, which can be seen in the southern side of Kitaaiki.

1 Tochibaraiwakage ruins. The village's main attraction is an archaeological site designated as a National Historic Site with a Jomon-era cave dwelling.
