By car Interstate 495 has several exits that lead into Haverhill. MA Routes 97, 110, 113, and 125 also intersect the city

By train

Operates train service around the United States of America. (updated Mar 2022) Route stopping at Haverhill: Downeaster operating five or six trains in each direction daily between Brunswick and Boston with stops Freeport, Portland, Old Orchard Beach (seasonal), Saco, Wells, Dover, Durham, Exeter, Haverhill, and Woburn. MBTA commuter rail operates from Boston via several stations in the greater metropolitan area as well as Lawrence. Haverhill is the northern terminus station.

Getting around

Local and regional buses are run by MVRTA, almost all routes convene at the centrally located 1 Washington Square Transit Station. The fare for local buses are free.
