Understand

Enugwu-Ukwu is one of the historic and culturally significant towns in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. The town is known for its historic and cultural background as well as it's industrious and creative people. It shares borders with several important Igbo towns; Agukwu nri, Abagana, Nawfia, Nise and Nimo. Enugwu-Ukwu is noted for its vibrancy in commerce, education, and cultural life. Enugwu-Ukwu have 18 villages which includes Osili, Awuvu, Avo-omimi, Orji, Umuakwu, Umuatulu, Akiyi, Enuagu, Urualor, Umuokpalanri, Uruokwe, Uruokwe (Nkwọ), Urukpeleke and others.

Climate Enugwu-Ukwu has a typical Tropical Wet and Dry (Savanna) climate, characterized by hot, humid, and rainy wet seasons (April-October) with abundant rainfall and warm to hot, drier periods during the dry season (November-March). Expect high temperatures year-round (around 29°C average), significant rainfall (over 200mm annually), and a climate heavily impacted by changing weather patterns.

Getting there

The town can be accessed by Air through Chinụa Achebe Airport or by Land through any of the transport services. From Onitsha, drive through Nkpor, Ogidi, Eziowelle and Abagana to get to Enugwu-Ukwu by foreigners,visitors and indegenes of Anambra State.

Getting around

The people of this community can move around with their personal vehicles, tricycles popularly known as Keke which has become a more rampant means of transportation in the town, there are also shuttle buses and motorcycles also known as okada. The motorcycle riders stay at strategic points in the community, especially around Nkwọ market and Eze Eleyas junction.

Buy

Nkwọ Enugwu-Ukwu is a popular market situated in the middle of the village near Ring road along Enugwu-Ukwu and Agukwu nri road. People from neighbouring communities come to the market on nkwọ data to buy and sell their wares especially farm produce.
